In The Invisible Guardian, the opposite is true.
They are usually seen as easy targets for the villain. Quite often, female characters in these movies are just the victims. That’s not very common in thrillers like these. On the plus side, this film features lots of strong female characters. If someone told me they were sisters in real life, I’d believe them! The chemistry between the two of them is so natural. Just as impressive is the rest of the cast, like Elvira Minguez. Marta Etura who plays Inspector Amaia Salazar plays her part perfectly. The silver lining in The Invisible Guardian is its cast.

Sadly, this movie isn’t as impressive as the ones from other Spanish directors. When The Invisible Guardian was released, Spanish thrillers were becoming more popular. I have to leave” - Inspector Amaia Salazar I won’t be surprised if some stop watching completely! Some viewers might find it boring after a while. But as the movie goes on, that intensity fades away. It keeps viewers on the edge of their seat. Early in the movie, the mystery was strong. However, it was the narrative that felt a little underwhelming. As someone who enjoys noir films, I find The Invisible Guardian visually impressive. That’s why this movie offers loads of visual appeal. It’s easy to see that he framed his shots very well. The director, Fernando Gonzalez Molina, obviously has lots of technical directing skills. I felt that this movie was a little bit lacking.
